Role Title: Software Developer
Division/Department: Development

Objectives:

Successful candidates will join a dynamic development team working in a rigorous environment ensuring customer solutions are delivered on time and within budget.The working hours are 6 P.M. – 1 A.M. shift work on a one year fixed term contract.Individuals should be self motivated with very strong development skills. Working within a team responsible for designing and developing processes for our enterprise level financial software Eclipse.  Eclipse is an n-tier system that uses COM,ADO, XML, COM+ and SQL frameworks.  All Windows clients are Web-Service enabled.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and developing processes for our enterprise level financial software Eclipse.
  • Working within an n-tier system that uses COM,ADO, XML, COM+ and SQL technologies.
  • Producing high quality reusable code
  • Adhere to eclipse coding standards and methodologies
  • Commenting of code
  • Unit testing and logging of test results
  • Bug fixing and QA support.

Analysis and Design

Responsible for the liaising with the project team including Project Managers and Business Analysts to design solution based on the requirements defined and the functional specifications developed.

Specification

To develop from the requirements and functional specifications a technical specification that describes how the solution will work. 

Code Development

Responsible for developing the code that will comply with the technical specification and to perform robust unit testing prior to delivery to the Quality Assurance Team.  There is a source control in place and developers should be familiar with either source Safe or TEAM.

Competency Profile:

Excellent command of the Visual Basic language and development environment. VB6 experience is a core skill for this position.

  • Programming languages; SQL,ADO, COM, C#, ASP, ASP.net, HTML
  • 3+ years experience within a commercial environment..
  • Ability to work as park of a team or independently 
  • Self motivated
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able and willing to learn complex business processes
  • Flexibility
